Yr 3/4 Rapid Fire Cricket
A huge well done to our team of Year 3 and 4's who attended the Rapid Fire Cricket on Monday 9th February. The children showed fantastic teamwork and coordination, at the same time as having lots of fun, to finish in 4th place. This means we have qualified for the finals competition! It was a fast-paced game and all children rose to the challenge so congratulations to Leo, Munesu, Radhvi, Isabelle, Connie, Haris, Max and Leon.

Yr 5/6 Boys Football Vs Longmeadow
It was an amazing 6-0 performance against Longmeadow, on Friday 6th February, from our Yr 5/6 boys football team. Every single one of the boys playing did the school proud. Goals coming from all over the pitch was great to see too, it was a shame the full-time whistle had to go!
Congratulations to the boys, let’s keep going!
Yr 5/6 Girls Football Vs Moss Bury
Our Year 5–6 Girls’ Football Team put in a fantastic performance on Thursday 5th February against Moss Bury School
Despite conceding four goals in the first half, the team showed real determination, pulled together, and came back fighting to score two brilliant goals in the second half. The final score was 4–2 to Moss Bury.
While it wasn’t a win, it was truly inspiring to see the girls’ positivity, resilience and teamwork shining through on the pitch. We are so proud of their effort, attitude and team spirit — they represented the school brilliantly!

Yr 3/4 Sportshall Athletics
What a fantastic morning we had at the Sports Hall Athletics on Wednesday 4th February! This was a 'compete' event where the children took part in fun and fast-paced track and field events indoors. As always, the children made Mrs O'Brien feel incredibly proud with their motivation, sportsmanship and incredible behaviour. The children should feel extremely proud of their achievements, displaying many of our PRIDE learning behaviours as well as the "Spirit of the Games" Schools Games values. This was a brilliant introduction to competitive athletics for our Year 3 and 4 pupils. Thanks to Stevenage Sporting Futures for organising another wonderful event.

They worked incredibly hard from start to finish and showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and spirit throughout the game.
Although the final score was 4–0, we couldn’t be prouder of how they played together and represented our school. Well done, team — this is just the beginning

Year 5 Dodgeball Festival
What a fantastic evening for our Year 5 superstars!
On Monday 17th November, a brilliant group of our Year 5's took part in a dodgeball festival all about mastering key skills and learning the rules of the game. Teddy T, Millie, Alma, Barry, Aairah and Harry were absolute stars — showing amazing teamwork as they rotated through skills stations, fun activities and some friendly inter-school matches.
We faced teams from Almond Hill, Woolenwick and Roebuck… and came away undefeated in every game!
Not only did they play brilliantly, but their behaviour and attitude throughout made us incredibly proud. And the cherry on top? We were awarded the School Games Value Award for Self-Belief!
A huge thank you to Stevenage Sporting Futures for hosting and to all the schools who took part

Year 4 Boccia Festival
On Thursday 6th November, six of our wonderful Year 4 students took part in a Boccia Competition at The Barclay School.

A huge well done to AMP, Noah, Teddy, Isabelle, Connie and Giselle for their excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and resilience, especially with it raining continuously. We're so proud of you all!
Year 6 Tag Rugby
A Year 6 mixed team took part in their first tag rugby tournament on the 24th October against three other schools from Stevenage.
The other schools had already played a little more tag rugby, and although the learning curve was steep, they embraced the challenged and played with great spirit.
The children did themselves and the school proud with both behaviour and positive attitude.
Despite not winning their matches, the children supported each other and scored some really good tries and conversions against strong opposition.
The last game was a really close one and they were unlucky not to snatch a win.
Kunashe and LH were chosen by the other coaches as our players of the tournament.
Thank you to Mrs Leach and Mr Freeman (Governor) and huge well done to all the children!

Year 5/6 Boys Football Tournament

Yr 6 Girls Netball Vs Round Diamond
The Year 6 girls took on a well established Year 6 team from Round Diamond on Tuesday 7th October. The girls showed all their PRIDE learning behaviours and impressed the visiting team's support staff and parents with their determination and resilience. Although Trott's Hill conceded 13 goals, there were a few opportunities for us to shoot and begin levelling out the score. This was the girls' first match, and they used a lot of the skills they had learnt to pass the ball from one end of the court to the other on multiple occasions. Well done to Ruby, who was captain and also received Round Diamonds player of the match. Well done to Ilaria, Scout, Isla, Jessica, Sophia and Georgia for working competitively and to Malaika and Eliza, who had only attended two training sessions in advance of the game, and came on in two quarters. Malaika was given player of the match by Mrs. Taylor, for her passionate effort in defending.
Yr 5/6 Girls Football Tournament

On Thursday 18th September, Sports Leaders attended leadership training at Barnwell Leisure Centre. They learned what it is to be a good leader, what their roles and responsibilities will be, being inclusive, School Games Values and some ideas for games.
Importantly, they learned how essential it is for them to encourage as much physical activity in our school as possible. Mrs O'Brien was very proud of their behaviour and enthusiasm. Well done to our old and new sports leaders - Scout, Laila, Leo, Bailey, Lovell, Eliza, Millie, Alma, Cara, Jase, Charlotte, Jael. Thanks to Stevenage Sporting Futures for hosting us.
