Stars of the Week

This week, as part of Anti-Bullying week, we have focused on kindness:

 

Reception – Ivy – has been particularly kind to a new friend who started Reception this week.
Year 1 – Layla – is always kind and helpful. She always volunteers to help the class.
Year 2 – Jack – shows kindness to every single child in the class and has had an extremely positive week.
Year 3 – Lily – shows kindness in the classroom and outside when playing
Year 4 – Kailan – for coming in even though he felt poorly and for helping other children with their learning.
Year 5 – Naomi – active participation in all lessons and showing kindness outside.
Year 6 – ORP – has shown resilience in maths and kindness to the other team when playing football.

Out of school achievements

Georgia S – received Player of the Match for her rugby team. She has been commended for being a great captain, her fantastic tackling and always being ready for the ball.
NM and Penny – have achieved their level 6 swimming certificate. They had to swim 10m wearing clothes and perform a surface dive. They have both been developing their life safety skills. Next they will be aiming to swim 50m!

Out of school achievements

Lacey and Brooke – are both huge fans of Blue Peter. They particularly enjoyed an episode where the presenter faced her fear of sharks, so they have been facing their fears by paragliding, roller-skating, wall climb, zip ling and going on water slides. They created some art work and sent it into Blue Peter in order to both receive their Blue Peter badges.
Susannah and Thomas – they both went litter picking and took the rubbish home ready to be recycled. Well done for showing pride and care of the environment.
Joscelyn – received a trampolining medal for being star of the month in her group and has passed Level 6.
Bailey, Zoe and Sophie – they had to complete two dances at the Gordon Craig theatre for a show. They all showed the learning behaviour of Enjoyment!

Out of school achievements

Thomas S, Penny L, William D,  Alicia D, Neve M,– have all received new karate belts! They all had a grading together; some of them received merits and some distinctions. They had to learn different moves, such as side kicks and punches.
Ben W – Level 8 trampolining award.
Allana – Player of the Match for her football team. She even carried on the game after having a ball kicked in her face!
Will A – Water Skills 2. Will swam 20m last week and this week swam 25m. He has preserved with his swimming and now really enjoys it!
AM –has finished 134 pages of times table practise!

Noah – received a swimming certificate. He had to swim without stopping, he just kept on swimming!

Dexter S – Level 8 in gymnastics. He had to do some back flips.
Finn – he can now ride his 2 wheel bike with no stabilisers!
PJM – completed llama training in France. Mrs Evans has never given out a certificate for llama training before! He had to stay calm so the llamas didn’t run away, he had to feed them, clean them, make his own llama and finally walk a llama around a field! What an unusual, but amazing, achievement!
TS – received a trophy for student of the week in karate. He focussed well and listened. He also learnt some new moves.
G C – won player of the match in rugby for his determination.

JH, SE, MC – have had extra lessons in the violin and have achieved their Bronze Violin certificates and badges.
JH – completed indoor skydiving for the first time.
Zoe – participated in a summer gymnastics competition and won! She had to do somersaults on the pole.
LF – won two goals and received player of the match in his first football game.
Alanna – Stage 3 and 50m swimming certificates. She is now using swim-flippers at her new swimming school!
Thomas M – has been awarded a trophy for good positioning in his first football match.
LB – won lots of rosettes for horse riding over the summer. She can even floss on her horse whilst trotting!

RM – ran a 5km inflatable race. She showed our value of ‘Courage’ when completing the vertical drop!
Mrs Murrill – achieved a dance Super Star award for her tap dancing. She has learnt lots of new steps and will be performing a show at the Gordan Craig.
