Molly – has been very busy dancing. Molly went to the Royal Academy of dance and entered a ballet competition. Molly received a runner-up award in the final!
Charlie Ta – received a trophy for scoring two goals and being Player of the Match for the second week in a row!
Edward I – received Player of the Match for his football team.
Poppy C – her family are very proud of her receiving a Gold (musical dance group), Silver (ballet group) and a Bronze (ballet solo) medal at dance last week.
Joshua B – has learnt the notes on a keyboard and how to play a tune for a Beaver badge. He performed the tune to the whole Beaver group!

County Dance Festival

Well done to those children who represented Trotts Hill at the Dance Festival in St Albans las week: Georgia, Blake, Jake, Bella, William, Florence, Joscelyn, Evie, Nina, Alicia, Asha, George and Eve.

Charlie Th – orange belt for Thai Boxing. He had to do jab cross counters in a small group.
Lexie – received a trophy for Starlet of the Match in her football match.
Charlie Ta – played his first ever football match for his new team. His next match is tomorrow.
Mia – level 8 in gymnastics. She has received a lovely rosette and certificate.
Eve – donated 9 inches of her to the Little Princess Trust. Her family are very proud of her for this.
Penny – 200 metre swimming certificate.
NM – 200 metre swimming certificate.
MR – 10 metre swimming award. She had to swim front crawl and back crawl. MR also has her Learn to Swim 3 badge.
Elana – Learn to Swim 4 certificate. She will have to tread water for her next award.
Lily F – Learn to Swim 7 badge. Lily had to complete sculling in the water.
Katy – showed great determination while bag packing at Waitrose last weekend. She helped to raise £324 for her football team!

 

Well done to all of Trotts Hill for raising £200.90p for the Save the Children charity on Christmas Jumper Day (14th December 2019).

Congratulations to Year 4 for a wonderful class assembly today. Everyone loved learning about the Egyptians and you performed the songs loudly, with expression and enthusiasm.

Out of school achievements

Florence – Player of the Match on Tuesday’s game. Well done to the other girls who were also in the football team.
Freya C – has attended gymnastics for the last 4 weeks. She passed her Level 6 award! Freya had to complete 4 forward rolls on the beam.
Poppy C – won two Third place medals for dancing. She completed ballet and miracle dances. Miracle dancing is singing and dancing together!
Evie-Grace – achieved her first black tag in Thai Boxing. She has been showing determination with this sport.
Zoe S – has achieved her 5 meter swimming certificate. Next she will swim 10meters!

Megan, Lexie and Georgia – had their first dance exam for Jazz. Despite having a tough examiner, all three girls received a Merit.
Holly – has had to do seat drops, back drops and a short routine in trampolining and received a certificate for this.
Lena – Learn to Swim One badge. She had to do a cannon ball into the water!

Olivia J – has donated 9 inches of her hair to the Princess Trust. She has been growing it for over a year in order to do this. Olivia’s family are very proud of her.
Thomas M – scored a hat-trick! This helped his team to win the match, so he won Player of the Match.
Ria M and Georgia M – they made their Guide promises at a candle-lit ceremony last week. They have made a brilliant start to their time at Guides and are already working towards different badges.
William P – played a football tournament last week. He managed to keep a clean sheet in 2 of the 4 matches. His team came second!
PM – won match of the match for scoring 4 goals. He showed determination in his match.

Sienna M – Stage 4 swimming.  Her next challenge is Stage 5 where she has to tread water.
Charlie Th – took part in his first ever challenge at swimming. He wanted to swim 50m, but received his 200m award! This is 8 lengths of the pool. Next he will go for his 400m award.
Evie-Grace Th – gained her great focus tag at Thai boxing. She showed determination and was very proud of herself.
Hollie W – level 5 gymnastics award. Hollie will be aiming for Level 6 next.

Louie I – won a trophy for his football match. He had strong legs and his team won 1-0.  He said well done to Louie F for scoring the winning penalty.
William P – achieved his Chief Scout bronze award. He had to complete many different badges and community work to achieve this award.
Josh B – recently received his swimming certificate Stage 4. He had to swim front crawl, back stroke and breast stroke. Next he will be learning to tread water. Also, he has been to Lap Land and tried husky dog sleigh driving!
Alanna – achieved her 25m swimming certificate. She had to swim a whole length of the pool in front crawl.
Hanna – Learn to Swim 2 award. She had to tread water. She even skipped stage 1!
Bailey S – has achieved Stage 3 at her swimming lessons. She had to swim back stroke, front crawl and breast stroke.

Charlie S – won a competition to be Champions League mascot on Wednesday. His favourite part was walking out onto the pitch at Wembley!
Thomas M – he played against Royston FC and scored a hat-trick! He won Player of the Match.
Connor – showed good defending and saved another team from getting a goal for his team. He received a lovely trophy.

This week, as part of Anti-Bullying week, we have focused on kindness:

 

Reception – Ivy – has been particularly kind to a new friend who started Reception this week.
Year 1 – Layla – is always kind and helpful. She always volunteers to help the class.
Year 2 – Jack – shows kindness to every single child in the class and has had an extremely positive week.
Year 3 – Lily – shows kindness in the classroom and outside when playing
Year 4 – Kailan – for coming in even though he felt poorly and for helping other children with their learning.
Year 5 – Naomi – active participation in all lessons and showing kindness outside.
Year 6 – ORP – has shown resilience in maths and kindness to the other team when playing football.

Out of school achievements

Georgia S – received Player of the Match for her rugby team. She has been commended for being a great captain, her fantastic tackling and always being ready for the ball.
NM and Penny – have achieved their level 6 swimming certificate. They had to swim 10m wearing clothes and perform a surface dive. They have both been developing their life safety skills. Next they will be aiming to swim 50m!

Lacey and Brooke – are both huge fans of Blue Peter. They particularly enjoyed an episode where the presenter faced her fear of sharks, so they have been facing their fears by paragliding, roller-skating, wall climb, zip ling and going on water slides. They created some art work and sent it into Blue Peter in order to both receive their Blue Peter badges.
Susannah and Thomas – they both went litter picking and took the rubbish home ready to be recycled. Well done for showing pride and care of the environment.
Joscelyn – received a trampolining medal for being star of the month in her group and has passed Level 6.
Bailey, Zoe and Sophie – they had to complete two dances at the Gordon Craig theatre for a show. They all showed the learning behaviour of Enjoyment!

Thomas S, Penny L, William D,  Alicia D, Neve M,– have all received new karate belts! They all had a grading together; some of them received merits and some distinctions. They had to learn different moves, such as side kicks and punches.
Ben W – Level 8 trampolining award.
Allana – Player of the Match for her football team. She even carried on the game after having a ball kicked in her face!
Will A – Water Skills 2. Will swam 20m last week and this week swam 25m. He has preserved with his swimming and now really enjoys it!
AM –has finished 134 pages of times table practise!

Finn – he can now ride his 2 wheel bike with no stabilisers!
PJM – completed llama training in France. Mrs Evans has never given out a certificate for llama training before! He had to stay calm so the llamas didn’t run away, he had to feed them, clean them, make his own llama and finally walk a llama around a field! What an unusual, but amazing, achievement!
TS – received a trophy for student of the week in karate. He focussed well and listened. He also learnt some new moves.
G C – won player of the match in rugby for his determination.

Alanna – Stage 3 and 50m swimming certificates. She is now using swim-flippers at her new swimming school!
Thomas M – has been awarded a trophy for good positioning in his first football match.
LB – won lots of rosettes for horse riding over the summer. She can even floss on her horse whilst trotting!
